Burckhalter has good instincts of gauging up his tackle and does a very good job of squaring up his pads going into his attempt. At 6’2″ he’s got the length to play off the edge and cause havoc. He shows good quick-twitch muscle reactions and love his energy that he has coming after the ball carrier. Burckhalter is a very underrated recruit at this point. Does a good job of dropping low into his tackle attempts and driving his legs. Needs to continue to work on his hip strength, if he does then you can really expect more explosive tackles. Tough all-around football player. His above average acceleration should really grab a lot of colleges attention. Burckhalter has a legit motor, cannot teach how hard he runs after the ball carrier. Would like to see him closer to 220 lbs this time a year from now. Burckhalter added about 10-15 lbs his soph to jr year, so hopefully that trend continues.
