What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

I received the Defensive Player of the Week. In 4 games, I have 15 solo tackles and 6 tackles for a loss. I also have three sacks so far this season.

Ellis is most notably a track athlete at Alpharetta, until his senior year, where the super athletic defensive lineman really broke out with a big season. The 2019 recruit has been overlooked this season, so many colleges fill up their class so early they miss out on Ellis who has really dominated the trenches this season. Energy, explosiveness and raw power at the point of attack are major attributes Ellis brings to the table. In one case he ran nearly 30 yards down field to catch a RB making a touchdown saving tackle – that’s just nuts for a 290 lbs DT. Going up against all kinds of competition this season, you really see Ellis take on solid recruits, get off blocks quickly and cause mayhem. He’s committed to Samford, but highly doubt his recruitment is really over just yet. One of the biggest selling points for Ellis is the fact that each game he appears to have gotten better, the more experience he seems to get, the harder he is to block. The 2019 recruit is definitely one of the late-emergers of this recruiting class, so it’ll be interesting how well colleges recognize that solid SR year he put together.
