What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

What makes me stand out is my instincts, my speed, and my length. I’ve been starting since my freshman year. I have a 4.1 GPA.

Jones was a 2022 recruit that the main recruiting guy over at Camden said we needed to checkout. Playing off the edge, the long 6’2.5″ defender does get to the outside and sets the edge pretty well. He has good length at least. Jones closes the distance quickly. Tackling is okay, he doesn’t have the best fundamentals when it comes to setting up his attempt. Jones has shown some upside in coverage, I think the legit highlight was against a FSU 2020 TE commit where he was on him like glue and picked off the pass. It does seem like Jones potential is more at rushing the passer, but it’s good to see that versatility to drop him back or even play him at MIKE at certain points in the game. Jumping into some early junior film and is definitely more at linebacker now. I think the biggest thing with Jones is that I would like to see him react to the play quicker and just get downhill and attack the run more. He seems to settle too far back and doesn’t force the issue at all. Patience is one thing but want to see him attack more against the run. He’s much better coming off the edge where he can just attack, and not try to read into the play too much. Jones had certainly made some really good progress in the weight room over the last few years, and is on progress to be at a near 300 PC by his senior year.
