Holmes has some quality upside for a 6’5″ defensive end, and him weighing already 250 lbs. give defenses some flexibility in how they want to develop him. He’s got a pretty athletic start out his stance, good hip bend too. Holmes has all of the qualities that you look for in a D1 recruit at DE given his size, but a lot of his film is in practice situations, so overall production is in question. He needs to be more relentless getting off his blocks, at times he seems to run out steam, and get pushed back by the o-linemen, where he needs to use his length, get leverage, get off his block and make a play. Holmes has legit upside given his frame, and he is just a natural athlete watching him get out his stance, and figures to be a SDE or even a DT at the next level.
