What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

My hardwork and technique

Gaines showed some decent production his junior year, but that doesn’t really matter in the recruiting world where his greatest upside is just now being realized. At 6’4″-6’5″ he has the length for sure, but even more noteworthy is the weight he has gained in the last year here where he just under 230 lbs. Gaines jumps the snap pretty well and shows active hands too. Needs to get a lot stronger at the point attack – his most recent weight lifting numbers show that. In pure pass-rushing scenarios though he does look good, and he shows some outstanding upside to be a FBS DE. He has decent speed. Needs to work on hip strength and just having better body control coming around the edge and creating pressure on the QB. Gained about 30 lbs. over the last 6 months and has been working hard this offseason with one of the top DL trainers in GA. Interested to see what his next bit of film looks like. Gaines could really make a jump here and be all over P5 programs radar come this fall.
