Diamond is the ’23 recruit we are the most familiar of anyone in the recruiting class. The young man absolutely lives the game of football, and has been training to be a running back since he was in elementary school. Diamond is a smart runner too, he does a really nice job of following his lead blocking and aptly uses his acceleration into open seams to get the most separation possible. What stands out the most from years past is the obvious growth spurt the 2023 back has seen and that has helped a good bit with his top-end speed. This last spring he ran 11.07 100m. Diamond has good pad level. We think he can continue to add weight and be near 190 at the next level. It might be a blast from the past, but Diamond reminds us of Robbie Godhigh from 14 or so years ago out of Harrison. He averaged 11.4 yards per carry last year and on just 93 carries he went over 1000 yards and 21 touchdowns his junior year. Diamond is set for an even bigger senior year. All the pieces have been coming together over the years, and we expect him to be the focal point of the offense in 2022. We think Diamond takes a jump with his speed his senior year that could really pick up his recruitment, but as it is, we like the patient hard runner in Harlem Diamond.
