Gibson led his region in tackles as a JR/SR and turn now to his senior year where he will finish up his HS career as the all-time leading tackler. The solid build linebacker does a nice job of tracking the ball carrier, taking good pursuit angles. The 2020 recruit does a nice job of playing with his eyes, he sees the direction of the play, and is typically the quickest player on the defense to the football. Does a good job meeting the ball carrier, really fires through the gaps and did a much better job of getting lower when tackling. Gibson is a rock solid defender, he knows his assignments and is quick to the play. Gibson does a nice job of shedding blocks with his hands, he has concise footwork and does a nice job reacting to the play. Gibson is driving his legs more thru the attempt and driving for 5 into the backfield. He is definitely well coached with excellent tackling fundamentals. Definitely shows a more explosive step in his senior year and getting around more blocks too. Makes the right play more times than and has big time motor too. Doesn’t matter who he is tackling too, Gibson takes down athletes with FBS offers with no problem. Major improvement in his power clean and also 3″ on his vertical over the last year.

I have personally watch Grant from pee wee football until is present position. He is as good or better than the write up in this article,
I keep wondering when and if he will get a rating from some of the recruiting gurus, I e rivals, 247 sports etc.
For his size, he is one of the hardest hitters i’be seen in high school. Regarding his need to improve in a couple of areas, of course he can and should improve. His ability to recognize a play developing, and his uncanny ability to get to the ball in a hurry, plus his natural toughness should offset the other deficiencies Maybe not large enough for a major D1 college football program, he will put on more weight and become stronger and even more quicker for any program. At a minimum he should be a three star and probably a 4 star recruit before he finishes his senior season.
