Stephens ran for 1500 yards as a sophomore and should be on almost anyone’s radar going into the 2020 season. No he doesn’t have big time size, but as a APB he shows some good breakaway speed. Stephens erases more angles than a geometry teacher. He hits top speed quickly. Really picks his feet off the ground and overall really like his running stride. He’s made some pretty good improvements in the weight room. Agility is extremely good, and though he doesn’t make a lot jukes, he uses them well. He really explodes out of this jump cut. His ability to change direction without speed is what we look for in FBS caliber playmakers. Next is just gaining weight and seeing more runs where he breaks tackles after contact, because right now it’s really his speed that opens up all these big plays.
