Smith was the 2nd option as a junior, but got a lot of reps regardless in one of the more imaginative rushing attacks in the state of Georgia. Smith has above average speed, and when he can stride out he shows the ability to break free at the HS level. He expanded on his role from junior year, and became a difference maker down the stretch for Northside as they made their run as state semifinalist. Played against one of the tougher schedules in 6-A, and rushed for about 800 yards and 12 touchdowns. Throws a shoulder and will help block for teammate running the football, but doesn’t show good technique. Added about 10 lbs. to his frame from a year ago, very explosive player whose smooth running style allows him to eat up yardage before the defense can react. Smith has a nice studder step at the line of scrimmage, and seems to be showing more patience reading his hole and exploding through at the right time.
