Hamm is another long athlete on the Oconee defense that really bottled up a lot of teams in 2019. He has good length at 6’2″ and longer arms giving him a good radius to break up the pass. Very physical player, uses hands well in press coverage to redirect the receiver. Hamm is a solid tackler, but would like to see him drop his hips more going into an attempt and not to lead with his head so much. Nice long running stride, he really covers a lot of ground when he hits full stride. Nice frame to work with too, Hamm is already at 195 lbs, and it’s reasonably to see him a lot closer to 215-225 in college, so there is some legit hybrid upside for the 2021 recruit. Hamm is good in run support and above average acceleration. Definitely a good fit for a nickle based defense where he can play close to the LOS but also has the coverage skills to man up on a TE, Slot or RB.
