What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

Yards per catch

DeWitt was an All-State wide receiver last year in Class A. What has always stood out about the 2023 pass-catcher is his ability to break tackles after the catch. He shows excellent balance and lower body strength to step out of tackles. He is aggressive going up for the football and shows some of the best ball skills in this recruiting class. Utilizes a stiff arm really well and consistently eats up more yardage down the sideline. His ability to time his catches at the apex of the football is impressive and then shows excellent body control while coming down. After being such a dominant player in Class A, DeWitt is back at Jefferson where he originally started his HS career. I would say his top-end acceleration has improved from last year and we are seeing DeWitt hitting his top speed more quickly. Plus, his top end speed is improved, which was a hit in his junior film. Cannot ignore the fact that he also plays defense where his size, football IQ and physicality makes him a very interesting safety prospect too. A lot of colleges should consider DeWitt an athlete, we just happen to like his ball skills as a receiver more but his upside on defense is notable, especially with the early season film at Jefferson his senior year.
