What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

I hold the school power clean record for my weight. 2x all region defensive back. I am coachable and hard working. I'll do anything for my team to win.

Deaton has a good burst to his game, and his strong weight lifting numbers seem to translate well to the gridiron. What you need to know about the 2019 athlete is that he loves to hit. Any type of talent, we saw him square up and tackle players who are prospects/commits for FBS-D2 schools. He doesn’t seem to back down, and just goes full tilt to the ball carrier, hitting them square in the numbers. Deaton is relentless in pursuit, but his angles are just as good too. He takes a direct line to the ball carrier, and when he makes he tackle he hits them square in the numbers. He’s a smaller player no doubt, but the consistency he can tackle suggest that he can play nickle and be an especially good special teams player at the next level. Several players this fall have told us the Deaton is one of the toughest players they have gone up against, and his impact on the field is a difference maker – says a lot when that is coming from an opponent. Tore his ACL and meniscus in one of the last few games of the season after a fantastic SR year. Terrible news, but I really think some programs should entertain Deaton as a PWO.
