Watson ran a 10.96 100m this spring, so that turned us on to his Hudl film. The speedy cornerback does a very good job of attacking the pass, and getting his hands into the receiver to break up the pass. He is very good at turning around on the football. Shows good concentration. Watson is a very good tackler in the open field dropping his hips and showing good fundamentals meeting the ball carrier. His timing is excellent breaking up the pass. Watson is a real sleeper in this class with legit top end speed. He is only 5’9″, so not the tallest player but Watson is a legit athlete whose recovery speed allows for him to break up a lot of deep passes, but it’s also his good reactions and tenacity to break up passes that excites us about the 2022 DB. Watson might only be 5’9″, but he plays a lot bigger, and couple that with his speed and we think he is a sleeper in this recruiting class. Ended up the spring with the 200m dash & 4×100 state runner up in both areas.
