Dre Cox – LB
Washington-Wilkes

#23 LINEBACKER

HT: 6'1″
WT: 215
GPA: 3.1
Class: 2018

Cox is a player who caught our eye watching film this fall at Washington Wilkes. He has a really good frame to add another 20 pounds and end up around 235 at the next level. Up until this year, the coaching at WW was questionable to say the least, but with coach Alligood the culture changed right away, and players like Cox have thrived. The weight lifting program has not been set up yet, so no surprise to see zero lifts provided. The Senior flows to the football pretty dang well, and shows a lot of natural athleticism. He returned a fumble 80 yards this season and you can really see his speed but more importantly a natural running stride. Cox does a good job of reading the play, and changing his pursuit angles based off that. He has a natural ability at slipping through the A gap. He is a patient player too, staying in his lane and filling the hole when the RB makes a cut back. That’s just a natural feel right there. Get Cox in your weight room, and watch him blossom into a starter.
