Grier was named Region Defensive Player of the Year. He is a high-motor athlete with a nose for the football and a really quick step which allows him to get into the backfield in a blur. He played out of position and will be an edge at the next level. Grier has pretty strong hands at the point of attack and does a nice job of ripping through his blocks. Looking at his weightlifting numbers, it is clear that the senior is a strong athlete, especially given his size. He uses that strength to get off his blocks quickly, but want to see him improve his pad level and not tackle so high. That’s an easy fix, but a consistent problem with his film. What stands out so clearly is the fact the Grier has a huge motor, great production, and D1 caliber weightlifting numbers. Considering he is about 6’2″, Grier is one of the biggest sleepers still uncommitted in the state of Georgia.
