Sikes figures to be the next big time offensive player at Stratford Academy. He does a nice job of running routes, digs into the defensive back and shows nice hip swivel redirecting his route. Sikes is a good receiver to have in a pinch, he does a nice job of breaking off his route and making himself available. He’s not a burner, but does have a good running stride and shows very good hands playing the ball over his shoulder. Sikes doesn’t always need to jump on the catch, sometimes he is wasting time when he could just be getting up field. There is no doubt he will be one of the best players on Stratford this year, so they will lean on him heavily to make plays. The 2020 possession receiver needs a bit more weight, but still shows toughness, and several plays he was clobbered over the middle before making the catch. As a defender he shows some legit potential. Sikes had several key tackles on 3rd down and shows good hands raking out passes too. Tackling is solid, sometimes he uses his arms too much, but others, he is locked in and tackles low hitting the ball carrier in the numbers. It’s a mixed bag, but something he can certainly get more consistent with.
