Creary was one the classification’s leaders with 6 interceptions, and he even caused 3 fumbles on the year too. So like always, a player creating turnovers always catches our eyes, couple the fact that he is 6′ and 180 lbs. and now it’s obvious we need to take another look at the All-State HM selection. One reason for the high interception total is the heads-up awareness the 2022 shows on the field. He does a good job of anticipating the throw and breaking off to make a play on the football. He’s not just solid in zone, but shows good coverage skills and physicality in man coverage. He has solid skills at the position for a HS recruit, but the speed is definitely a question. There are definitely plays where he gets beat and the ball is just underthrown. That’s a bit fortuitous and Creary might be a better fit as a FS at the next level considering his good IQ for reading the open field, granted his tackling is good, but certainly not a strength, and not always the best lining up his tackles. He does have good urgency though and efficient at getting the ball carrier down striking low while (mostly) keeping his head up. Creary is a solid FS candidate, and does have some versatility to play boundary corner depending on the matchup.
