We watched a mixture of Patton’s sophomore film and a few individual game film from this season so far until he gets a junior tape created. First attribute that leaps out is the 2019 back’s short space acceleration. He hits the whole hard, and can cover a lot of ground in the first 10-20 yards. He’s tough as nails too, watched him fight for yards, keeps his feet thru contact – nice pad level too which allows him to get that additional yardage. His versatility and development as a pass-catcher (he shows a ton of promise lining him up in the slot) will absolutely play an important role in his recruitment. He does a nice job of squaring up his pads and getting up field, and we usually see him make the first player miss. Patton will certainly get a wide range of looks from FBS and FCS schools alike due to his many skills he displays out there on the field. One area we would like to see him grow into is on special teams as a punt returner.
