Gates has good hip flexibility and really explodes out of his stance getting really good leverage on the other lineman. To put simply Gates just outworks his opponent and beats them to the point of attack. He 2018 offensive guard has a nasty streak to him and does a great job of finishing his blocks. Great student as well. His dad is an offensive line coach, and you see his strong fundamentals take hold on each play. He looks like a no doubt FCS prospect and honestly think he can play at the FBS level in the right system, granted they might only offer a PWO.
