What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
International Baccalaureate Student, Unity Certificated Associate, Computer Programming Pathway, Marietta Mentoring for Leadership member, Coding Club Member. I have been actively involved with sports my whole life, playing football, baseball, wrestling, track, and swimming competitively. I am currently a varsity player on my school’s football and wrestling teams.
Husbands showed above average explosiveness for his age group and frame at our combine posting a 8’8″ broad jump and a promising 4.5 shuttle time. Both are impressive for a linebacker prospect over 200 lbs. Jumping into his film, and against Hillgrove Husbands showed excellent attention to the play, jumping the direction and doing a very good job of plugging away the gaps. He needs to get quicker with his hands, try to fight off blocks quicker. Very good reactions, does a nice job of sinking his hips before tackling. Reads the ball carrier well, doesn’t seem to overpusue and has quick choppy feet going into a tackle. Looking at his frame, and it’s pretty clear that Husbands can play ILB at the next level. He should be around 220-225 at the next level. Going into his senior year he has little varsity film, but I think with graduation that Husbands can step up and produce well for Marietta. Athletically, I would like to see him get stronger in the hips, improve his flexibility, and just continue to get stronger with his core over the summer in preparation for this season.
