McClain’s older cousin’s Zakoby and Khalil were some talented players from prior classes, both playing FBS football at Auburn and Troy, respectively, so when the last named popped up there was no question to checkout his film. Just like his brother the 2021 recruit has a long springy frame and looks very good in pass coverage where he created a few interceptions just dropping back and reading the QB’s eyes. Pretty good tackler, but does come in a little too high. Outstanding acceleration though, I really think the Valdosta 2021 recruit will start to land FBS offers here shortly. His versatility to play out in the flat is going to really get teams going. Plus, he is just really starting to fill out his frame, and could easily be over 220 this time a year from now – in fact, he’s already there. Dropping his hips and exploding through the tackle would be a welcomed edition to his senior film, needs to work on his power clean, that will help a lot with hip strength.
