What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
As a Sophomore starter, I have faced some great competition in this 7A Region and held my own. I still have two years to improve my skills, increase my size and strength and grow into a dominating player. As a student, I have a 3.5 GPA in one of the top academic programs in Cobb County. I possess the academic ability and personal character to excel as a college athlete and be an asset to any program.
Manion has strong hands, and is quick at the point of attack, which allows him to get off his blocks quickly. He is quick to set the edge on perimeter run plays and does a great job of pursuing the football until the whistle is blown. That same motor and dedication to the game should translate well this offseason, and we expect him to make some solid gains in the weight room and be closer to 225 by next fall. Biggest question will be if his frame is big enough to put on the weight or he might have to switch over to OLB. Right now all his film and training is going to DE. He does a solid job of setting the edge, and uses his hands to get off blocks quickly. Manion needs to get stronger, and continue to sharpen his fundamentals improving his overall quickness. He finished a very strong junior season with an appearance in the state semifinals and emerged as a leader on the MPC Defensive unit. He received All Region Recognition
