Linton has shown flashes of excellence throughout his HS career earning All-Region and All-State HM in both his sophomore and junior years. Needless to say, we suspect the 6’4″ 220 lbs. defensive lineman is set for a big senior year at North Atlanta. Linton lines up across the line of scrimmage for his squad. He has a good motor chasing after the ball carrier, taking solid pursuit angles, and cleaning up tackles from the backside. What catches your eye with Linton is how quickly he accelerates to his top speed. In just a few strides, Linton is at full speed. He needs to improve getting out of his stance quicker. Work on his pad level and be more active with his hands when getting off blocks. Linton is plastic-like, contorting his body around blockers at times and has a fairly quick swim move that he likes to use. Taking advantage of his length to get off blocks is a missing piece to take his block shedding to another level. As a tackler, we would like to see him drive his legs more through the attempts. Linton is a solid D1 prospect who needs to continue to round out his fundamentals but has a lot of athletic upside plus the motor to excel at the next level. Look for him to top out around 250-260 in college, which considering his speed, that is an appealing pass-rushing proposition.
