Hartley is a powerful 2020 recruit, his weight lifting number indicate very good body composition and overall, he makes an impact on offense, defense and specials teams even. I like how quickly he engages with the defense. Hartley is an attacker, not a reactor to the football. He hits looking to punish the ball carrier, but at times gets a little to high for my taste. Meets the ball carrier with a lot of energy in the hole, doesn’t shy from contact whatsoever. Love his effort and the energy he shows. Hartley is a natural keeping his pads parallel to the LOS. Creating more turnovers, increasing his production will get more colleges’ attention at this point. Hartley had an impressive senior year with 110 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 7 sacks in just 8 games played – which gave him some of the best per game clips in the state regardless of classification. Hartley earned Region Defensive Player of the Year and was also First Team All-State on the site.
