Vela square his hips on the pass like a natural and makes instinctual breaks. He’s got decent speed, keeps up with the receiver on deep passes and raking the ball out. Vela is a rock-solid tackler who makes the receiver know of his presence to say the least. He’s made some nice improvements in the weight room and that has translated onto the field with much more explosive tackles and pass break ups. Absolutely love the energy Velas plays with, and he seems to always find his way around the ball. Last season he was out of position at CB but now he is as FS primarity where he can utilize his innate football IQ. P5 schools should be all over him as a PWO too.
