Spencer was a major contributor as a sophomore in a very talented DB field. Now he is starting full time, and is making good use of his new reps. He is a really good athlete with quick hips and feet which allows him to stick with receiver well in man coverage. Absolutely love how he locates the football and makes the break up instead of throwing his shoulder into the receiver. Spencer is extremely fundamentally sound, he jams the receiver right at the line of scrimmage, and uses his quick hips to rotate over in the direction of the route. Spencer is a very high IQ football player, and doesn’t get fooled easily on trick plays. The 2019 recruit has continued to fill out his frame, and over the last year has added 10 pounds plus 65 pound increase to his squat.
