Shelnutt is one of the top remaining uncommitted TE’s in Georgia. He is a tenacious run blocker, he really gets after defenders and will drive them into the ground. He is a crisp route runner and he does a good job of driving his foot into the turf and pushing off to get separation in the short to intermediate passing game. Does a nice job squaring up his shoulders on the catch too. We watched him live at the Corky Kell 7v7 this summer. He was pretty quick getting off the line, and made a few very difficult catches with the D draped all over him. He has a big frame, and with the proper weight lifting program he can end up being around 250 at the college level. He has grown an inch over the last year too, so that encouraging.

2016 Stats: 272 yards, 20 catches, 22 targets, & 1 TD

Sure hands tight end with better than average TE speed. RB’s love to see Shelnutt out front blasting the running lane open. Dislayed great skills at JV & work ethic earned a Varsity start with continued growth.

Very overrated player. Needs to work on hands and blocking ability.

Obviously a bogus review above… Great hands & great blocking… HUDL doesn’t lie. D1 doesn’t believe hype, they watch the film. Good things to come for this player.

Another name I expect you’ll be hearing more about, Shelnutt has seen his recruitment pick up heavily of late, with a recent trip to Auburn and a private workout with Georgia on Wednesday. He’s much closer to the Isaac Nauta school of tight end than the Charlie Woerner, but there’s certainly no shame in that. Shelnutt is a pass catcher with solid hands and a nice, buildable frame.
