Has good size with speed and explosiveness. All region.
Lopes runs with good forward pad lean and really generates a ton of power from his lower body. He shows quick feet moving laterally and does a really nice job of mirroring the movements of the ball carrier. He doesn’t take too many missteps, and once gets a beat on the play he fires after them. He blows up ball carriers with outstanding speed, and that’s an indicator that he takes good pursuit angles. He’s a run-stopper, showing nice instincts shooting the A & B gap and making a stop. He has come up big this season too, stuffing plays on short yardage downs late in the game against top 10 opponents. Lopes looks like the type of player you can get on special teams right away and he can make an impact.
