Chaffin has very good size, and weight lifting numbers are solid for his age group. He’s paving the way for one of the state’s leading rushers, and the 6’4″ 300 OL has been just blowing defenders completely off the football. He’s got good leg drive, a nice motor where he just outworks the defender. Chaffin is just a straight-up run blocking offensive lineman, but in a few situations you see him pull and move out in space. Overall the 2020 OG shows some pretty good promise, and a player that should be on most D1 schools boards at least. Chaffin is pretty quick off his feet for a player with as wide of a frame that he has. He get’s very good leverage when blocking, and his shear size/power just drives the defender out of the play. Most HS’s knew his school was going to run it, so Chaffin dished it out, paving the way for a near 3k yard rusher. He is pulled a lot, so moving over to OG should be little of an issue at the next level. Chaffin has a strong lower body, he really churns his feet and gets after his man. Seems like the type of player you want at your camp, see how he does against the competition. Keeping a flatter back while engaged is an area of improvement. Really like the effort the 2020 lineman plays with. Needs to get quicker feet and improve hip strength, if he does then more D1’s should be interested.
