Cannady has been a long term starter at Pickens, and has progressively added weight to his frame to point now where he is over 300 lbs. Originally thought as an OT, Cannady projects more as an OG at this point. He was more physical at the point of attack his junior year, and that earned him Region Offensive Linemen of the Year. Keeping his back flat is a huge area of focus for Cannady, he needs to focus on his hip flexibility for the remainder of the offseason heading into the 2019 season. No doubt he has gotten a whole more powerful in the weight room, and his positional versatility at the college level, especially with his extensive training at OT, allows for him to be plugged in across the LOS. My suggestion is for Cannady to drop a little weight, get quicker at the point of attack – that will be what most college strength coaches will focus on with any incoming freshman. Very good player, high character – looking to see him take another step as a leader for the Dragons.
