Smith already looks like one of the more versatile defenders in this class with the ability to line up with his hand in the dirt of slice back at linebacker. He’s an elite athlete at linebacker at 6’2″ 220 lbs. with very good closing speed. You can see why throughout his HS career P5 programs have offered – the athleticism is special. Smith gets downhill and can really get into the backfield quickly. Smith packs a punch when he is there. Tackling is solid, but would also like to him keep his feet going through the attempt. Overall there is a ton to like with Smith and really think with some additional refinement to his tackling and just overall movements, he can really be an elite defender. Smith looks like his recruitment has slowed down and really Liberty is the top school recruiting him.
