Thomas was a standout last year on the surprise team that was New Hampstead in 2017 and once again played good football in 2018. He is a good open-field tackler. Shows good hip rotation and above average acceleration sticking with a receiver in the slot. He has a bigger frame for a safety, and can line up a ball carrier for a big hit. Keeping his pads parallel and dropping his hips more in 1 v 1 tackling situations would help with consistency. There is a lot of arm tackles right now, and not utilizing his size really. Thomas didn’t make the jump I was looking for his junior year, he needs to really hit the weight room, and become more explosive. Cannot deny his frame, though.
