Watkins should grow into a DT at the next level. He shows really good quickness off the football, not just athletic ability either, good timing with his jump. He shows a lot of urgency right at the snap, and attacks the offensive lineman with violent hands. Watkins makes a fair amount of plays from the backside, always seems to pursue the play all the way through. Six tackles for loss and 7 QB hurries shows he can effective as a pass rusher, but still has a ways to go in terms of using a swim move. Right now, Watkins just gets leverage, and rips off his block. I like the general hustle he plays with. At the next level he should get to be around 290. He shows decent versatility. Needs to improve conditioning and would like to see him have a bigger impact in the backfield with tackles for loss. His motor, versatility to play across the line and the fact that he is fully eligible makes him a coveted recruit.
