What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

9 sacks
10 TFL
20 qb pressure
30 tackles(14 solo)(9 GP)

The 6’4″ defensive end has good activity with his hands and does a nice job of getting off blocks. You can see the natural length, beyond just being 6’4″; Dortch has long arms, which allow him to move and scrape off blocks. He keeps his pads fairly low, angles his shoulders to get around blockers. He’s been trained well in hand placement. You can see the natural hip bend and flexibility with Dortch. Shows good energy after the football and makes solid reads, sticking with his assignment and not overpursuing. Want to see him get lower with his tackles and drive his legs through contact better. That will be a focal point for any coaching staff at the college level, but what you get in a player like Dortch is great tools to develop. Overall, we like Dortch as a prospect. Originally, we had him pinned as an edge/OLB type of prospect, but he’s an inch taller and 15 lbs. heavier since last spring. His frame and weight-lifting numbers suggest he could be around 260 at the next level. We like his tools, and sharpen those skills long enough, and you could have a really solid defensive end prospect. Good productivity SR year with 10 tackles for a loss and 5 sacks.
