James Ohonba celebrated his birthday today by announcing a top 4 colleges, which includes Alabama, Southern California, Michigan, and LSU. The big 6’5″ offensive tackle is considered to be the best offensive lineman in the state of Georgia according to our latest rankings.
Ohonba blew up about a year ago when he received a litany of Power 5 offers at the end of April, and almost immediately after his profile was made on this site. The 2018 o-lineman has always beat to his own drum, and showed little interest in the in-state schools during his recruitment (even though UGA was the 2nd school to offer), so his top 4 being all around the country is no surprise from our point of view.
It is worth mentioning that LSU and Michigan were a few of his most recent offers, and it does appear they have made an instant impact. Alabama on the other hand was the 4th school to offer him and coach Key has built a good relationship with the road grading offensive guard. The school that has come out of left field is Southern California, which to our knowledge had not offered, but Ohonba has confirmed that they have.
Anything can happen leading up until James Ohonba makes his decision, and he has made it clear that he is still open to schools outside of his top 4. Be sure to checkout his profile HERE and follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear more Georgia HS recruiting news.
