Lowndes Woods Keeps On Chopping

Mason Woods has been a difference-maker for #5 Lowndes this season. They are undefeated, playing incredible football, running the gauntlet through arguably the toughest football region in the country, and that all culminates towards tonight’s Winnersville Classic against Valdosta.

The emerging junior back has produced at a high level with 1137 rushing yards and 14 total touchdowns on just 160 carries this season.

“My junior year is going well, and I’m thankful for my coaches and my teammates who have really helped me succeed. My goals are to win a state championship and continue to excel.” Woods said about his junior year.

In his Week 11 performance, Woods took the game away with a 65-yard touchdown run, where he twisted and spun out of a crowd of players and ran the rest of the way for a score.  He earned the #2 play of the week on the site for his work, and he seems like the type of recruit that colleges will gravitate towards.

“So far, I’ve visited Georgia Southern and East Carolina. I would like the opportunity to visit more programs and make connections,” he added.

While his recruitment has not caught on fire just yet, the whole process is just beginning for the 2027 running back. Woods delivers a tough mindset, built on that South Georgia toughness that college coaches covet.

“What separates me from others is that I’ve continued to train extensively outside of practice and remained dedicated.”

All of that training will be put to the test tonight against Valdosta. Woods will be leaned on again to find the tough yards between the tackles, in a game where helmets and pads will be popping, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia to see the latest highlights from the explosive junior and playmakers on either side of the Winnersville Classic.
