Jefferson Hoping Hardwork Pays Off

Very few defensive backs in the state of Georgia have added weight like Jalen Jefferson out of Tucker. This 2018 safety dedicated his offseason in the weight room and it has paid off big time with an additional 20-25 pounds of muscle.

Jefferson spoke about the 2017 offseason and the camp he attended this summer, “My offseason was great. I put in a lot of work and felt I greatly improved my game. I did do a camp at Harvard and it went pretty well.”

His new weight should prove to be beneficial in run-support and open up the eyes of colleges at this ability to play multiple positions at the next level. Last year his versatility was on display on any given snap. He matched up against some of the top tight ends in Georgia, but also showed patience sitting back in a zone.

Jefferson is a really smart player both on the gridiron, and in the classroom where he sports a 3.956 weighted GPA. Several top academic institutions have offered, including Davidson, Princeton and Cornell.

His goals heading into the season is to “grow as a player and leader, continuing to work on my craft, and win a State Championship.”

Tucker is returning a ton of seniors from last year’s state runner-up team and are one of the favorites to win it all in Class 6-A. Their defense features plenty of explosive athletes, and quite possible is the best in the entire state of Georgia regardless of classification.

Jefferson is one the bigger sleepers still remaining in the state of Georgia. He currently only holds 4 offers, but we expect a lot more Division I colleges to offer after a strong senior showing.
