Ivy League Jumping on Hamilton

North Gwinnett offensive lineman Will Hamilton has seen his recruitment take an uptick this summer with three Ivy League schools offering on the 2019 recruit. Just in the last 48 hours, Hamilton has seen both Cornell and Columbia offer. Both of these outstanding academic institutions join Brown, who offered a few weeks back.

There is no real surprise in high-academic schools jumping on the versatile offensive lineman, in fact, we were expecting it. The 2019 offensive lineman has been signed up with us since May 2016, and from our pespetive, is unequivocally the epitome of a student-athlete. He boasts one of the best GPA’s among lineman in the state of Georgia with a 4.0 (taking 4 AP classes during the season last fall), and he has also scored a 33 on the ACT and a 1410 on the SAT.

Over the last few seasons he has started for North Gwinnett (playing offensive guard and center) and was a mainstay on the 2017 State Championship squad. At the next level, Hamilton is an excellent fit to play center, which is seemingly a perfect fit for his skill set.

Hamilton is a tenacious blocker who plays the game with a ton of urgency. He has added nice weight to his frame during his high school career, which is credited to the hard work he has put in the weight room. Over the last year, we have seen a 40-50 lb jump on most of his lifts.

Hamilton displays some of the best blocking fundamentals of any offensive lineman in the state of Georgia. He really gets after it and just loves to dominate his opponent. The North Gwinnett team steam rolled their way through the 2017 7-A state playoffs, piling up over 1000 yards rushing as a team, and the 2019 offensive lineman played a massive part.

Heading into his season at North Gwinnett, we expect Hamilton to continue to grow as a leader, and help his team once again compete for another state title. Another strong season for Hamilton, and who knows where his recruitment might go, so stay tuned to @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear the latest news on the North Gwinnett lineman.
