Harper Looking Sharper in 2019

Columbus’ own KeAndre’ Harper has seen his recruitment take off over the last month with several colleges offering, including two today in Yale and Eastern Kentucky. The class of 2020 edge rusher came off a strong 2018 campaign where his relentless effort on each play gave opposing offenses headaches.

The good play didn’t stop either, and in the Rising Seniors game in December of 2018 Harper totaled 7 tackles, two of which were for a loss. Harper is continuing to expand his game, and you can already see him become more familiar standing up on each play.

It was just a year ago, Harper sophomore year, where he had his hand in the ground on every down. Last season though, Harper was standing up giving maximum effort on each down, which is a quality that colleges coaches look for in prospective student-athletes.

They also look for players with over 4.0 GPA and already a qualifying test score, which are two more check marks for Harper. High academics have caught on too, and Harper has recent offers from Harvard, Dartmouth, Navy, Princeton, Air Force and Yale to go along with a few more quality programs.

It is still early in the process for Harper, and some more time in the weight room and the high upside athlete could really explode. At our combine last month, Harper had the highest vertical leap of 33.4″ and his 4.41 laser shuttle time indicates that he can play well out in space with more time and experience.
