Bridges Set For Big Season

Therrell junior Ahmad Bridges has been a playmaker from the moment he stepped on campus.

“I would describe my junior year so far as nothing less than amazing; we have a great group of guys this year,” Bridges said.

Just last week, the ‘Boogey’ Bridges broke loose for a huge run that was originally a broken-down play. Starting at the 12-yard line, Bridges received a handoff on a jet sweep where he was quickly cut off by a defender, but he adeptly reversed field and hit the gas down the right sideline. With the pursuit still on his heels, Bridges made another cutback at midfield before running the final 50 yards capping off an 88-yard touchdown.

The play made the top 10 plays of the week where Bridges was ultimately voted the #3 play. Bridges feels like he has improved both vocally and on the field as a unit.

“This year, I believe I am more vocal and competitive compared to last year. My team has been working hard this offseason and as of now it is paying off,” he said.

Therrell blew out Clarkston 52-6 and is 2-0 to start the season. They will face off tomorrow against Towers, who is currently 0-3.

Another win and the Panthers will look like a team to watch out for. That’s obviously on Bridges’ mind, but he also wants to see his recruitment start to take off too.

“My biggest goal this year is earning my first college scholarship but my team goal this year is to win a state championship.”

The explosive athlete also holds a 3.8 GPA and already seems like the type of recruit where spread options teams will be interested. His ability to cut on a dime and accelerate back into his top speed is impressive.

As of now, Bridges says that his recruiting process has been a little slow but is hopeful that contact will pick up. Currently, he has no visits planned, but as the season progresses, and his junior film continues to cultivate, some colleges will surely start the process with the 2025 recruit.

As for now, the junior will have to be patient for the recruiting process to play out though, so for more highlights and recruiting news on Bridges and players all across the state of Georgia be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X.
