Allen Calls Game vs Veterans

Last week’s Warner Robins vs Veterans game was a thriller where a select few plays had a monumental impact on the outcome. One play that stands out was SR defensive back Jamarcus Allen’s 99-yard pick six that sealed the game 27-17 in favor of Warner Robins.

With moments left remaining in the game, Veterans was threatening to score and take the lead. The QB lobbed a pass towards the endzone, which was high-pointed at the goalline by Allen. As he collected himself, the senior began to sprint upfield. He navigated through the Veterans offense, to which those left pursuing were drained of all hope, as Allen crossed the endzone, triumphant, and the entire Warner Robins sideline ran out to celebrate.

On Sunday night, the play earned a spot on the top plays of the week, and 24 hours shortly thereafter, Allen was voted the #2 play of the week.

“So far, my season has been off to a good start, a lot of opportunities to learn from and get better with my guys,” Allen said. “My stats so far are over 30 tackles, 3 pass breakups on 6 targets, one fumble recovery, and the one huge interception.”

That one huge interception swung Warner Robins’ record to 3-2 on the year, and they will now move into region play after predominantly playing opponents a classification higher. That battletested schedule should prove beneficial during the 2nd half of the season.

For Allen, the season is all down to a few snapshots. “My biggest goals this season are what the coaches remind us of daily, win region, win state,” he said.

Allen has been named player of the week two times this season. The 6′ safety is a smart athlete who does a great job of getting downhill, taking smart, direct pursuit angles, and is explosive tackling low, driving the ball carrier down.

Allen’s jump in production, especially during critical points in the game, as seen in Friday’s game against Veterans, shows the type of work he has invested over the last year. The senior talked about where he has improved the most.

“My biggest area of improvement has to be trusting my abilities and playing comfortably thanks to the people around me,” He continued to talk about how he can impact winning at the college level, “I know what would separate me at the next level is my passion and dedication to the goal of being the best version of me. I’m the guy who looks just to work and contribute wherever and however my team needs me, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to do that at the next level.”

On the recruiting front, Allen has one offer from Reinhardt and plans to visit them in November. With patience, he feels like the recruiting winds are changing much like the seasons. The leaves will be falling shortly here in Georgia, and recruiting news should continue to fall for Allen, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on the Warner Robins standout and athletes across the state.
