What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
Last season I was the starting Tight End for the for the St. Pius X High school’s varsity football team as a sophomore. I beat out many juniors and seniors to get that role and strived, worked, and got better every single day. From there I got invited to do many all star football games with the best players in Georgia over the winter break, and did great in them having multiple catches and a touchdown. I am also a leader on my football team. I got asked to represent the class of 2028 on the football leadership council. In addition, I am also tri-sport athlete who plays football, baseball, and basketball for my high school. What I am most proud of is my work ethic and performance in the classroom. I have a 4.0 GPA and take honors and AP classes. This semester I even got inducted into the math honors society. Lastly, I am in Diverse Student Union where we advocate for unheard voices and, minorities, and have the seal of biliteracy in Spanish.
The big St. Pius target played in a few of the All-Star games late in 2025 where he caught a few passes. He has solid size at 6’4″, and expected, as a St. Pius player, Gist knows how to block, showing good hand location and effort to drive the defender back. He does a really good job of setting the block up with his feet, working around the defender and sealing them off on outside runs. Would like to see him get lower with his pad level, he is blocking too high. That can easily be cleaned up, and the noteworthy aspect of his blocking is just the relentless effort. Gist really gets after it. At around 225 lbs., Gist has the frame for D1 programs to take a strong interest as a blocking TE at the next level. Will be interesting to see ho much taller he grows, but even if he doesn’t, Gist should be well over 250 lbs. while in college.
