Columbia’s Rashaad Silver celebrated a great 2025 season, earning Region Player of the Year, All-State, and All-County. That trio of accolades many in the state dream about, and the junior now places those in a trophy case that is quickly becoming crowded.
With the offseason well underway, we caught up with Silver, who has earned over 20 FBS offers from schools across the country.
“The offseason is going good. Right now, I’m participating in track before spring football comes back around,” he said.
Silver is a well-rounded student-athlete, joining the Naval Junior ROTC program at Columbia and also sporting a 4.1 GPA. Several strong academic programs have taken an interest, especially the Ivy League, but Silver is also a national recruit, with P4 programs in pursuit.
“Yes, I’ve been getting recruited by a few Ivy League schools, and they will definitely be in the mix in the process. A few of my top schools at the moment are Auburn, Arkansas, Michigan State, Florida State, and Wake Forest,” he said.
Just this week, the 6’2″ 180 lbs. earned an offer from Cornell and was named a 3-star by On3, who ranked him the #108 player in the state of Georgia. With the spring practices looming, we suspect a lot of P4 programs will want Silver to take a visit, but as of now, nothing has been set in stone.
If you followed long enough, you’ll know that we have been on the Rashaad Silver hype train since his sophomore year, when we named him All-State honorable mention. And while his individual accolades have grown, heading into the 2026 season, Silver seems to be focused on the team.
“My goals for next season are to lead my team to do something we’ve never done before, win a state championship. Next season we’re for sure all in. All gas, no breaks,” he said.
Columbia plays among the toughest schedules of any program in the lower classifications, and each season they bounce around, and outside of our top 10 in 2A, but in 2026, a lot of pieces are coming together. Silver looks to be the championship catalyst. A game-breaking threat who can breakoff a touchdown from anywhere on the field, no matter where he lines up on offense, defense, or special teams.
Silver is a special impact player, and while we nod in approval that Rivals has appropriately rated him a 3-star, we find it hard to believe that he is not a top 50 player in the state and worthy of a 4-star. Let’s come back to that in a few months and see how extracurriculars shake out, but for now, be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest recruiting news on Silver and players across the state of Georgia.
