As a sophomore, Chandler Dyson has stepped into the starting role at Warner Robins, and although he took some early lumps, the talented passer is playing his best football. In Week 11, the athletic 6’3″ 228 lbs. QB helped his team to a huge 48-44 win over Ware County, giving his team the #2 spot in Region 1.
Dyson produced 309 yards passing and two touchdowns while also totaling 100 yards rushing plus another score to secure a playoff spot, securing a potential #2 seeding with a win against Perry this Friday. The great performance got headlines across the state, including over here, where he was named to the weekly top performers and was voted Player of the Week thanks to his tremendous efforts in the upset win.
“Sophomore year is cool, though it’s nothing special. I want to secure a home playoff game and keep helping my team win,” Dyson said.
At a program like Warner Robins, where they are expected to be a ranked team in 4A every season, Dyson has kept his head down and focused on improving each week. He believes his work ethic, along with his FBS caliber size, is a differentiator factor for the athletic passer.
“What separates me from others in my class is my size, physicality, arm strength, and the fact that I grind harder, putting time in year-round,” he said.
On the recruiting front, Dyson has started to garner more college interest. He has taken several FBS visits to more local programs and has another planned this Saturday.
“Recruiting is slow right now, but good. I have taken some college game visits this year – UGA, Bama, Georgia Southern – with an upcoming one Saturday at FSU,” he said.
In the preseason, Dyson wanted to pass for 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns, and rush for over 500 yards and 5 scores. The sophomore made up some ground in last Friday’s game and believes he is close to achieving the goals he set last summer.
Most importantly, Warner Robins is playing its best football of the 2025 season. They could be heading into the playoffs with a 3-game winning streak, facing off against some of the toughest regional opponents in 4A.
No doubt, they will be a team to watch, and in large part, the emergence of the 2028 signal-caller is a good reason to pay attention, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on Dyson and players across the state of Georgia.
