Week 9 Standouts

Here are the Week 9 standouts from our weekend research. We have a brief write-up on each of the 12 athletes we selected, along with individual game footage, when available.

We also have a poll for our Player of the Week directly underneath, which will end on Tuesday at 10 p.m. You can only vote once per hour! The winner will get a featured story on the website and a custom highlight video.

Jontavius Wyman
SR Jonesboro
Athlete

Jonesboro steamrolls over Mundy’s Mill 49-0, and the SR do-it-all athlete was spectacular. Wyman totaled 5 catches for 112 yds and 4 touchdowns on offense while also landing a pick-six that he returned for 48 yards and 3 tackles, one for a loss. The Miami commit is the most versatile player we have seen since Travis Hunter, and looks like the candidate to be the All-State athlete in 4A this season.

Demetrius Heywood
SR Hillgrove
Edge

The Hillgrove defense had another dominating performance, winning 54-0 over Campbell, which drops their season points-per-game average to a state-best 1.9 per game. SR Edge Demetrius Heywood had two fumble recoveries where he scored on each, and was named Player of the Game. Hillgrove moves to 7-0 on the year and has a major top 10 matchup against McEachern this Friday on GPB.

Tavarre Terrell
JR Creekside
Linebacker

In a historical 91-0 win over Drew, Tavarre Terrell had two fumbles returned for a score (32 yards and 38 yards), plus he forced a fumble, had 3 sacks, and a tackle total so large, they are still tallying it up. Okay, we joke on the last part, but Therrell had an all-time defensive performance for Creekside. They enter Week 10 as our #1 team in 4A and the #12 team in the GHSA 25.

Joshua Scott
JR Stockbridge
Quarterback

Stockbridge JR passer was on fire throwing for 345 passing yards and 7 touchdowns, plus 82 more yards on the ground and one more score in a 60-28 win over Union Grove. Stockbridge moves to 5-2 in Region 2, currently tied with three other programs for 2nd place. No film yet from the game, but will attach if it becomes available.

Ethan Corpus
SR Allatoona
Running Back

The Allatoona SR has been on fire running the football lately. Against Cartersville, who is currently ranked the #4 team in our 4A rankings and #23 overall, Corpus had 22 carries, 331 yards, and 5 touchdowns. Corpus is now at 1022 yards on the season and seemingly the best-kept secret in running back in the state.

Kaden Driscoll
SOPH Ola
Defensive Back

In a game with a lot of crazy plays, sophomore Kadne Driscoll managed to create three for himself in the form of interceptions. The sophomore returned one for a score in a 63-0 mauling of Woodland-Stockbridge. Discoll is definitely a name to know in the class of ’28.

James Lasco
SR Marist
Quarterback

Lasco rushed for 148 yards on 30 carries, and had the go-ahead touchdown, breaking a 21-21 tie with a two-yard goalline run with only a minute remaining to beat St. Pius 28-21. The senior navigated a 21-3 comeback to beat their arch rival, completing 9-of-11 passes for 123 yards. Marist moves to 6-1 on the season.

Rashaad Silver
JR Columbia
Defensive Back

In a major region rivalry game against Miller Grove, Columbia JR Rashaad Silver had 12 tackles and 2 forced fumbles, both being critical, stopping 2A’s #1 passing offense as they were just inches away from scoring in the redzone. Columbia wins the game 26-20, and Silver’s clutch fumbles were critical. After playing one of the toughest out-of-region schedules in the lower classifications, Columbia moves to 2-6 on the season, but 2-0 in region, currently in first place with two games remaining.

Kaleb Narcisse
SR Kell
Quarterback

Kell beat Westminster 49-0, and SR passer Kaleb Narcisse was 12-of-12 for 370 yards and two touchdowns. The Longhorns move to 6-2 on the season and are playing their best football at the moment. The program is loaded with FBS talent, and the talented Narcisse does a great job of getting everyone involved. Narcisse committed to ETSU over the summer to play both football and baseball.

Kobe King
SR Coahulla Creek
Wide Receiver

Kobe King breaks the school single-game receiving record with 207 yards and 3 touchdowns, plus recovers a fumble and grabs an interception on defense in a 45-0 win over Murray County. Coahulla Creek moves to 2-5 on the year with some region heavyweights still left on the schedule, so plenty more opportunities for King to show out.

Jonathan Granby
SR Fellowship Christian
Athlete

The senior was 7-of-8 passing for 164 yards and two touchdowns, rushing for 84 yards, and impressively scored three touchdowns in just four carries, all in the first quarter. Grandy also had 5 tackles on defense. He only played in the first half, beating Mount Pisgah Christian 70-0. Grandby recently committed to Georgia Southern on September 25th, and had Fellowship Christian 6-1 on the season, ranked as high as #2 in the Private rankings.

DeMarko Ward
JR Screven Co.
Running Back

Screven County seems to be on here each week, but they continue to play big games, beating prominent programs in DII, and this week, DeMarko Ward gets the spotlight. The JR ran for 210 yards on 22 carries for 4 touchdowns in a 27-7 win over Metter. With several playmakers continuing to emerge throughout the 2025 season, plus the best run blocker in DII in Tony Ball, the 7-0 Screven County Gamecocks look to be among the most dangerous programs in the classification at the moment.

James Lasco clearly deserved the win here. Voting doesn’t mean nothing, you just need to look at the stats.

I’m not sure it was as clear as you see it. The Kid from Screven had over 230 in total offense and scored 4 TDs against a quality opponent. Not taking anything away from your kid or anything.
