Hollingsworth is a Valuable SR Prospect

The banner season for Whitefield Academy SR Mason Hollingsworth has been exceptional to behold. The running back has 1247 yards, 17 rushing touchdowns, and another 76 receiving yards, plus one more score.

Hollingsworth’s record-breaking season hit a pinnacle moment last week when he broke the Cobb County single-game rushing yard record with 426 yards on 26 carries and 5 total touchdowns. The SR was voted Player of the Week on the website and has received national attention across the country due to his great performance against Pacelli.

“The start to my senior year has been unbelievable. I couldn’t imagine suiting up to play with any other team than my very own. This year is where I show that the work I put in will pay off in more than one way,” Hollingsworth said.

Whitefield Academy is 4-1 on the year and the #9 team in our Private rankings. The senior’s unbelievable productivity has him on pace to be All-State back in Private, which in turn, should attract additional college programs.

“As far as the rest of the season, I plan to continue to put up numbers and keep getting my name out to colleges to let them know that I am a serious player and I am more than capable of playing for their program,” he said.

In just 5 games, Hollingworth has already exceeded his total yardage and touchdowns from last season. The senior gives a lot of credit to the offseason, where he pushed himself to new levels.

“Over the last year, I’ve grown in not only my vision, but also in my speed, where I lacked last year, and just my ability to break away some of these long touchdown runs now.”

The SR has been making explosive long runs all season. Hollingworth is quick getting out of the hole, making explosive jump cuts and possessing the top-end acceleration to create space from the pursuing defenders.

On the recruiting front, Andrews College extended an offer earlier this week, but at the moment, that’s his lone offer. Hollingsworth is optimistic that his recruiting momentum is turning around.

“I am still underrated; D1 programs are looking past me, and I just have to continue to prove myself this season. I have no visits planned at the moment, but that will soon change in the near future,” he said.

When asked about what he can bring to a college program, the senior was adamant that his traits exemplify the model student-athlete.

“Not only a player but as a young man, I bring hard work, dedication, and most of all personality, on and off the field. I keep a humble mind and an eager heart to contribute to any program that wants a dog but also a young man; they don’t have to worry about off the field.”

The 6′ 185 lbs. running back has bested opposing defenses all season long, and it’s only a matter of time before college D1 programs start to offer, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on Hollingsworth and players across the state of Georgia.
