Week 6 Standouts

Here are the Week 6 standouts from our weekend research. We have a brief write-up on each of the 10 athletes we selected, along with individual game footage, when available.

We also have a poll for our Player of the Week directly underneath, which will end on Tuesday at 10 p.m. You can only vote once per hour! The winner will get a featured story on the website and a custom highlight video.

Mason Hollingsworth
SR Whitefield Acd.
Running Back

Hollingsworth broke the Cobb County single-game rushing record, going for 425 yards on 25 carries and 5 touchdowns. He helped his #9 ranked Whitefield Acd. to a 63-24 win over Pacelli. Hollingsworth had a total of 472 yards on the night and averaged a whopping 17 yards per carry. In just 5 games, the SR has totaled 1,247 rushing yards and 18 total touchdowns on the season. If he continues this pace, the underrated back is set for an All-State season.

Gavin Steele
JR Mt. Paran
Running Back

Mt. Paran took a trip out to Washington-Wilkes in a physical matchup where JR Gavin Steele was excellent, rushing for 235 yards on 35 carries for 4 touchdowns. Steele, who we selected as a preseason All-State returner in Private, also had 53 kickoff return yards on the night. They pulled off the 40-32 win over Washington-Wilkes and are now 3-2 on the year.

Tyler Stephens
SR Stratford Acd.
Running Back

SR Tyler Stephens had 20 carries for 240 yards and 5 TD, including a 75-yard KO return, helping his team to a 41-14 win over Brookstone. This was a big one against Brookstone, who was the #1 team in the region before the showdown. Stephens is one of the hardest workers in all of middle Georgia and a very slept-on running back in the class of ’26.

Skylar Hamilton
SR Landmark Christian
Quarterback

Landmark SR goes 13-23 for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns along with 12 carries for 117 yards and two more scores in a 35-7 win over Lake Oconee. With over 400 yards of offense, Hamilton did this all in just 3 quarters of play, helping his team to a 5-0 record on the season. The SR passer was our Preseason All-State QB selection for Private and looks to be on track for postseason honors.

Derrick Miller
SR Newton
Wide Receiver

The Class 6A showdown between Newton and Archer has been one to watch the last few seasons, and 2025 was no different. The final score was 42-35 in favor of Newton, with SR receiver Derrick Miller making 5 catches for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns against their region rival. Miller’s speed has been an enigma to defenses so far this year and is among the best playmakers in the class of ’26.

Bryson Donald
SR Lakeview Fort-Ogelthorpe
Running Back

Donald had 155 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns in a huge 35-17 win over Ringgold. He scored every touchdown, helping his team secure its first win over Ringgold since 2019 and providing them with an avenue into the 2A playoffs this season.

Max Steve
SR Hebron Christian
Safety

Steve had 20 tackles, 2 PBUs, and 2 interceptions in a 22-17 win over 4A’s Blessed Trinity. This matchup was a Private school showdown between established powerhouses, but ultimately, Hebron Christian pulled ahead thanks to the fine tackling of Steve. The Lions have now established themselves as the unrivaled #1 Private school in the state. Steve, who recently committed to Davidson, won the Robbie Hunter Game MVP. The SR is one of the best open-field tacklers in his recruiting class.

Parnell Yates
SR Mitchell Co.
Running Back

Mitchell County wins 40-34 double OT thriller against Randolph-Clay where SR Parnell Yates had 215 passing yards, 95 rushing yards, 5 total touchdowns, and 2 solo tackles on defense. Yates is not a QB by trade, but made the most of the situation, tossing long passes downfield and rushing hard between the tackles.

Khi Mitchell
JR Mt. Zion-Jonesboro
Quarterback

JR Khi Mitchell had 477 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, and 83 rushing yards and another score in a 56-10 win over SE Whitfield. Normally, we don’t cover blowout wins, but with over 550 total yards of offense and 6 touchdowns, Mitchell has one of the best individual performances of the 2025 season thus far. Great game by the JR passer.

Andrew Richardson
SR East Jackson
Quarterback

East Jackson’s Richardson was 16-of-28 passing for 269 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries in a wild 52-38 win over 3A’s East Hall. Richardson has great speed, topping over 21 MPH earlier this season, and is a standout baseball player on the diamond, too. East Jackson looks to be a major player in 2A this year with the senior leading the way.

Zay Prince
SR Athens Academy
Running Back

Athens Academy’s Payton Prince rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries in 49-28 win over Commerce. Prince has established himself in the first half of the season and looks to be among the best rushers in Private. The 2026 running back has a big frame at 6’2″, 210 lbs., and patiently waited for his opportunity at RB at Athens Academy. He is making the most of it with 895 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns, and averaging 179 yards per game.

Chris Miller
SOPH Kennesaw Mt.
Quarterback

Sophomore Chris Miller completed 16 passes out of 18 for 339 passing yards and 5 touchdowns in a 37-29 win over Lithia Springs. This propelled Kennesaw Mountain to their 2nd win of the season, and as mentioned in last week’s article on SR WR Dylan Green, the Mustangs could be one to watch during the 2nd half of the season. We like how their schedule sets up, and the sophomore QB will be a difference-maker.
