Humbert plays with a lot of intensity, but that is equally matched by impressive instincts getting after the passer. His ability to time the snap is one of the best in this recruiting class. Slow down the film, and his first step is lightning fast, and that alone makes Humbert an interesting prospect worth watching closely. Humber is active getting off his blocks and does a pretty good job of getting underneath the pads of the offensive lineman. He needs to be stronger at the point of attack and become quicker with his hands coming off blocks. Humber’s feet and quickness are tough for most offensive linemen to keep up with, and he was a terror coming from the backside for most passers. That should repeat here in 2024, but beyond into college, Humbert will have to play more in space and less with his hand on the ground. How will he transition? That’s a good question, but there is no doubt that Humbert is a pure pass-rusher with great quickness. Plus, that first step is really on another level; cannot say that enough. Those kind of reactions are translatable to have an impact on defense.
