Varner is more of nickle who is extremely good in man coverage, reading the QB’s eyes and making a break on the ball. He doesn’t have prolific speed, but enough to have a major affect on the game. Miller Grove’s QB situation was up in the air, so they tried him out there, mostly scrambling for first downs, but looking quick in the process. They put him at long snapper too. The senior is the swiss army knives in the class of 2018 in Georgia and really cannot think of player who played more positions for his team. He can turn a negative into a positive just through shear determination and athletic will. Overall Varner is a really good football player, and should absolutely play at the D2 or NAIA level.
