The Hart County Bulldogs are authoring one of the most impressive turnaround stories in the state this fall. After finishing 3-8 a year ago, they are currently sitting at 8-1 and hold the #1 ranking in Region 8, arguably the deepest region in all of Class 3A. The catalyst for that massive resurgence is sophomore quarterback Tucker Parson, who transferred into the program after a standout freshman season at Rockmart.
Standing at 6’3″ and 180 lbs., the three-sport star (football, basketball, and baseball) is absolutely torching opposing defenses. As mentioned earlier, Parson was a standout freshman at Rockmart, throwing for 2698 passing yards and 34 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He has an incredible feel for the game and throws one of the best deep balls of any player in this recruiting class.
He displayed elite arm talent in the Week 10 matchup against Morgan County when he took home Player of the Week honors on the site. Parson lit up the scoreboard in a 49-35 shootout over Morgan County, throwing for 426 passing yards and 5 touchdowns.
“I would say our season is going great,” Parson noted. “Last year I think Hart was 3-8 and now we are 8-1, so it was a big turnaround for the team.”
The sophomore signal-caller has posted impressive numbers to fuel that turnaround. Through nine games, he has thrown for 2,232 passing yards and 27 passing touchdowns with just four interceptions. He is also getting it done with his legs, adding 206 rushing yards and four additional scores on the ground.
Parson is staying level-headed, keeping his focus straightforward for the remainder of the year, saying, “My goals for the end of the season are to be better than I was last season in every category.”
On the recruiting front, college programs have been pretty aggressive, with Samford being his first offer back in January this year. Parson, who sports a 4.0 GPA, has already seen his recruitment take off with FBS interest continuing to grow. He took a gameday visit to Clemson last week and noted that he is currently drawing early interest from Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Iowa State.
What’s impressive about Parson is his consistency. Over the first two seasons, the 2029 QB has looked more like a varsity senior, showing a touchdown-to-interception ratio that indicates elite decision-making. Considering his size, multi-sport background, elite downfield accuracy, and proven ability to lead a program, Parson looks to be a surefire national prospect in the making.
With just a handful of regular season games left, Hart County hopes to win the Region 8 Championship and take that momentum into the playoffs, where anything can happen, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear more on Parson and standout players across the state of Georgia.
